Bound Brook Shade Tree Commission is an appointed board that oversees the planting and maintenance of street trees in all public rights-of-way and on Borough property. Commissioners inspect trees and coordinate with the Department of Public Works for pruning or removal of street trees, as needed. In Spring and Fall, the Commission arranges for the planting of new/replacement street trees.

Holds a community Arbor Day event each year in April to promote tree stewardship and appreciation on the part of residents.
Reports annually to the State of New Jersey on Bound Brook’s progress in implementing its Community Forestry Management Plan and its status as a Tree City USA.
