Welcome to Bound Brook

Bound Brook – It is a small, tight-knit residential community with a cosmopolitan downtown that boasts a lively arts and commercial scene.  In addition to being the cultural center for the area, Bound Brook’s geographical location is of importance to the small Borough with convenient access to many of the State’s major roads.  It is also a New Jersey designated Transit Village with mass-transportation opportunities available to the New York City Metropolitan Area.

Help Bound Brook remain a “great place to live, work and play”

Laws should be maintained as per Borough Code.

Trees, shrubs and bushes should be trimmed to allow for sidewalk passage and corner visibility.

The front, side and rear yards should be free of trash and rubbish.

Garbage should be in approved garbage cans and recycling in Somerset County issued bins for curbside collection.

Garbage cans may be placed curbside after 5 p.m. the night before your collection and remove from the curb by 8 p.m. day of collection.

The appropriate amount of bulk stickers on bulk garbage at curb after 5 p.m. the night before your collection.

Vehicles should remain in operable condition with valid license plates and registration.

Keep all vehicles off lawns.

Guidelines for Resident Trash Removal of Household Garbage

Garbage is to be placed curbside, no earlier than 5 p.m. on the evening before your scheduled pick up. Garbage collection begins at 5 a.m. on the scheduled day.

Designated recycling containers are available at Borough Hall for residents who have open cant-style containers.
Designated recycling containers available through Somerset County Department of Recycling & Solid Waste Management for residents who have the new, tote-style containers.

Electronic Waste

Somerset County Residents can recycle electronics, free of charge, on designated Saturdays and weekdays. Visit the County’s website for an updated schedule.

Paint Disposal

Latex Paint can be disposed of in your normal trash ONCE SOLIDIFIED.

Oil-based Paint should be disposed of at a Hazardous Waste Day held several times per year by Somerset County.

Grass Clippings

Are taken by residents to Nature’s Choice, 136 Foothill Road, Bridgewater, NJ. Contact Nature’s Choice, 732-469-1500 for seasonal hours. Grass clippings will NOT be collected by the Borough.

Leaves

Are to be placed in containers or leaf bio-degradable bags and placed at the curb for collection on the scheduled day. NO PLASTIC BAGS. Collections are scheduled mid-October through mid-December. After this collection period, leaves may be taken to Nature’s Choice in Bridgewater. DO NOT MIX GRASS CLIPPINGS WITH LEAVES.

Brush & Yard Debris

All brush and/or yard debris must be bundled in six-foot lengths or placed in garbage cans, not to exceed 25 pounds and placed at the curb for pick up on the appropriate day. Yard debris consists of small twing, branches with leaves attached, big weeds, etc.

Bulk Collection

Regular household bulk items may be placed at the curb on your reguarly shceduled garbage day. Stickers are required for bulk items. One (1) sticker is for every 25 pounds. Sitckers can be purchased from the Finance Department by cash or check only. We will NOT pick up Construction Debirs.

Metal items are collected on the third Friday of each month. Metal collections can be scheduled by calling 732-356-0833 ext. 635 or by clicking below. No stickers required.
