Free Document Shredding for Residents to Help Save Time and Protect Against Identity Theft

 

Branchburg Municipal Building, located at 1077 US Highway 202 N., Branchburg, NJ 08876 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until the trucks are filled. The event is a free and easy way for residents to help guard against identity theft, and to avoid the hassle of shredding documents at home. Residents can watch to ensure their documents are completely shredded. The event will occur rain or shine.

To comply with social distancing guidelines, residents must wear facial coverings and should be prepared to unload their items, but staff will be available to help if necessary.

Proof of residency is required: Residents should be prepared to present a current driver’s license, valid lease, tax bill or any other bill with a Somerset County address. Pre-registration is not required. Businesses and commercial vehicles are NOT allowed.

Residents can bring up to six boxes, containers or bags of documents per visit, but residents will be required to take back their receptacles. Staples and paperclips do not have to be removed. Junk mail, magazines and newspapers WILL NOT be accepted.
