All dogs seven months or older must be licensed.  According to NJ law, proof of rabies vaccination is needed before a license can be issued.  Dog licenses can be obtained in the Township Clerk’s Office at the municipal building.  The license fee includes a metal ID tag.

Licenses can be obtained in the Borough Clerk’s Office of the Municipal Building. The license fee includes a metal ID tag that your animal must wear on it’s collar at all times for identification if it gets lost.

If you do not have a license for your Dog or Cat you must fill out an application at Borough Hall at 230 Hamilton Street, Bound Brook, NJ 08805 and pay a fee to get licensed as soon as possible.

If your dog or cat is licensed already, each year you will be mailed a renewal slip and you must renew by January 31 of that year. Otherwise, you will have to pay an extra fee to process.

If you have a CAT and/or DOG WITHOUT A LICENSE, you will FACE A FINE of not less than five ($5.00) dollars nor more than fifty ($50.00) dollars for each offense, to be recovered by and in the name of the Borough of Bound Brook Board of Health or by and in the name of the Borough of Bound Brook.

How To Apply for a Dog or Cat License

A dog or cat license can be obtained by filling out an application for a Dog License or Cat License to the Borough Clerk’s Office at the Bound Brook Municipal Building and shall give the following information:

A general description of the dog or cat including breed, sex, age, color and markings, and whether the animal is of a long or short haired variety.

Name, street and post office address of the owner of the animal, and the person who shall keep the dog if other than the owner.

Certificate of Rabies vaccination is required pursuant to subsection 5-2.8-5.12.

Registration numbers shall be issued in the order in which applications are received.

Fees involved:
$19 for a neutered dog
$21 for a non-neutered dog
$5 for a neutered cat
$10 for a non-neutered cat.

Each license must be renewed yearly by the end of January or pay an extra fee of $5.
